Audrey Casas’s Instagram page, “The Audrey Machine,” maintains a powerful slogan: “Mastering Hope.” Casas focuses on uplifting urban cities such as Lynwood and Compton, where hope is essential in order to rise. Casas is a Lynwood teacher who has raised over $65,000 to give to those in need; Through the donation of gift cards, groceries, and masks – among other essential items – Casas inspires hope within her community and even beyond her community, reaching over 2,000 followers on Instagram. Casas has posted her Zelle, CashApp, and Venmo information on Instagram to accept donations to extend the distribution of hope. With real stories and real images of real people, “The Audrey Machine” highlights the power of giving, from a little girl who lit up at the sight of a Lucky Charms cereal box, to a laptop donation from the piggy bank savings of two kids from Washington State, to a family who used their $100 grocery gift card to start up their own menudo business – no donation is ever too small to kindle hope in the community.
